chancel choir

The Chancel Choir is the primary service choir for most worship services and other seasonal events occurring at FUMC Minden.  The repertoire is broad and varies and includes every style of music from classic sacred tpo comtemporary choral arrangements.  There is no audition required to be a part of this group.  We are looking for people whjo love to sing and posssess a willingness to work hard and to faithfully serve as leaders in worship.  


Rehersals are Wednesday evenings from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. in the choir suite and 10:00-10:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings, immediately prior to the Traditional Worship service.

Handbells

FUMC Minden owns five octaves of beautiful Malmark handbells and 3 octaves of hand chimes.  The handbell choir plays in the worship services several times throughout the year.  The music ranges from classical, to spiritual, to contemporary.  This group is open to those with little to no experience as well as seasoned players.


The Handbell choir rehereses on Wednesday evenings from 5:00-6:00 p.m. in the handbell rehersal room in the adult education hallway. 

MAD camp

Held each summer during the second week of July, our Music, Art and Drama Camp remains one of our most popular children's offerings at FUMC.  Those who are intersted in being a part of the musical work with professional drama and music coaches who help them learn their parts.  The week-long camp features teams of childrenrotating throught he four disciplines each day with the goal of presenting a fun musical at the end of the week.  

chidren's choir

The children's choir program at FUMC is designed for children kindergarten (5 years old) - 5th grade.  Our Cherub Choir (k-2nd grade) and King's Kids (3rd-5th grades).  We teach a comprehensive musical program form the Chorister's Guide that presents songs in a fun, interactive way.  Children learn to sing the songs, play musical instruments including handbells, and do creative activities that support the music they are preparing.


The children's choir meets as a part of our Wednesday evening program in the Children's building at 6 p.m.
