chancel choir

The Chancel Choir is the primary service choir for most worship services and other seasonal events occurring at FMC Minden.  The repertoire is broad and varies and includes every style of music from classic sacred to contemporary choral arrangements.  There is no audition required to be a part of this group.  We are looking for people who love to sing and possess a willingness to work hard and to faithfully serve as leaders in worship.

Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. in the choir suite and 10:00-10:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings, immediately prior to the Traditional Worship service.

Please contact Dr. Dan Gibbs for more information or to join the choir.

Handbells

FUMC Minden owns five octaves of beautiful Malmark handbells and 3 octaves of hand chimes.  The handbell choir plays in the worship services several times throughout the year.  The music ranges from classical, to spiritual, to contemporary.  This group is open to those with little to no experience as well as seasoned players.

The Handbell choir practices Wednesday afternoons 5:00-6:00 p.m in the handbell room in the Adult classroom wing.

MAD camp

Held each summer during the second week of July, our Music, Art and Drama Camp remains one of our most popular children's offerings at FUMC.  Those who are interested in being a part of the musical work with professional drama and music coaches who help them learn their parts.  The week-long camp features teams of children rotating through the four disciplines each day with the goal of presenting a fun musical at the end of the week.
